Steve (et al.):

We had the same issue with patron logins from library OPACS and home
computers after we upgraded to Release 2007.

We found that those who had problems were running an unpatched version
of IE 6. Once we had those libraries (and recommended to patrons
accessing from home) upgrade the internet browser we have had no further
reports of login trouble.

Subject: [IUG] SSL Port, IE 6 and Win 2000/98

Hello IUG Listers,

I've got a weird problem that's arisen after we upgraded to release
2007. On machines running Windows 98 or 2000 and IE 6, our patrons
cannot login to their accounts online. In fact, they cannot even get to
'/patroninfo'-- our OPAC uses an SSL port for logins so our link to
'/patroninfo' is converted immediately to https. We think SSL is a
possible source of the problem, but to this point nothing has worked:
clearing the cache, cookies, etc. on these machines.

Has anyone seen this and have a possible solution? Many thanks in
advance.
