Some of these are coming up in title browses because the phrase you searched
for is contained in a formatted contents note title field (505|t): i.e. the
chapter or song titles are formatted in MARC so they can be searched by
title. Others, as you noted, can be explained by the title in a 970 (one of
III's TOC fields, I think, evidently title-browsable.)

In order to only get 245s in your title browse you'd have to do the search
in Create Lists. Something like Bib 245 starts with Natural History. Either
that or change all the title indexing in your OPAC....

Hope that helps.

Subject: [IUG] Strangeness in index browse screens

When I do a title search in my catalog for "natural history" the results
come back with the first line labeled "The Cambridge History Of
Eighteenth-Century Philosophy" and having 24 entries. The following
entries are titles which begin with "natural history" but have additional
words in the title. When you click on "The Cambridge History Of
Eighteenth-Century Philosophy" you get a list of the titles we have that are
"natural history." They all have the title of "natural history" either from
a 245 or 970 field

How do I get the index browse screen to display the title "Natural history"
instead of the title of the first record in the list??

The same problem occurs with the the title Jet.

Thanks for any help you can give.
