- Subject: [IUG] Spine labels with new template
I've been playing a bit with the laser spine label template and thought
I'd share what I've learned.
I've been working with the template called _ls101Gyld and it took me a
while to figure out that Gaylord's label number is actually LSL01
(confusion between 'el' and 'one').
The template as distributed only prints from subfields a and b of the c
field--no volume and copy numbers, etc. I've added some of what we
needed and don't foresee problems adding the rest.
There is a limit of 8 lines--any text that flows past 8 lines is lost.
The page margins are off a bit. I got identical results on two printers
and concluded the problem is with the template, so I made some
adjustments which seem satisfactory.
Thus far I haven't been able to successfully select the printer I
want--the labels always come out on the same one. Selection seems pretty
straightforward, but I must be missing something or doing something
stupid.
One of our libraries is doing some testing. More news as it develops....
When I get the template tweaked to our satisfaction I'll upload it to
the wiki.
