Replacing the awful button can be done with some javascript as well.

This page provides the steps and necessary code, and a couple of
screenshots (they're shots of your bib_display, Elizabeth, so I know it
will work for you!). The text of the link is customizable. The script
also allows you to assign a class to the link, so you can style it like
the rest of your text links.
