Loyola Marymount University seeks a creative, enthusiastic candidate for
the new position of Serials & Electronic Resources Librarian. This
librarian will be responsible for managing electronic resources, as well
as print serials and other continuing resources.



Loyola Marymount, founded in 1911, is a comprehensive university in the
mainstream of American Catholic higher education. Located on the west
side of Los Angeles overlooking the Pacific Ocean, LMU is one of the
nation's 28 Jesuit colleges and universities and five Marymount
institutions. It serves 5,400 undergraduates and over 2,500 graduate
students in the Colleges/Schools of Liberal Arts, Science and
Engineering, Business Administration, Communication and Fine Arts, Film
and Television, Education, and Law. Loyola Marymount seeks

The Serials & Electronic Resources Librarian assumes a lead role in
ensuring consistent and integrated access to electronic and other
continuing resources. Specific responsibilities include: manage
life-cycle processes for electronic and continuing resources;
troubleshoot access problems; work with vendors to resolve complex
problems related to access; compile, maintain, analyze, and disseminate
usage statistics; develop policies, procedures, and work flows to
optimize user satisfaction; train and supervise staff to implement best
practices; and serve as LMU's representative at various conferences and
meetings related to serials and electronic resources management.



The ideal candidate must have broad knowledge of current trends in
electronic publishing and continuing resources management; familiarity
with the acquisitions and serials modules of an integrated library
system, preferably Innovative Millennium; and experience with commercial
knowledge base and link resolver products. Other requirements include:
knowledge of evolving standards related to serials and electronic
resources; a Master of Library Science from an ALA accredited
institution and/or other related graduate degree required; a minimum of
two years experience in electronic resources management preferred; and a
strong commitment to professional development.



Hiring Salary: $49,338 to $64,189 commensurate with experience and
salary history
