We use ldap very successfully with iii. We do not experience the problem Michael outlines below.

Subject: [IUG] Active Directory to authenticate

EWU is starting to use Active Directory to provide integrated authentication on campus. Is anyone using Active Directory to provide access to Millennium or other online resources?

I searched CSDirect and, not to my surprise, didn't find anything about this.

A more productive search is LDAP. The Innovative product for interfacing
with LDAP/AD is "External Patron Verification," which also turns up a
few things.

We have it and it generally works well, but it took Innovative some time
to get it working with our Innreach server.

I think the only outstanding issue now is with patrons placing multiple
requests (from the "shopping cart")--only the first request is
processed. Multiple requests work fine for the patrons that log in the
old fashioned way.
