I'm catching up on email, so forgive me if this has already been answered, but I know this one! You append an "a" to stand in for the check digit at the end of the record number.

Subject: [IUG] recordlink # invalid in Millennium Staff

Okay, another dumb question here.

Staff will find something awry with the display of a record in the OPAC
and send the cataloging staff the permanent URL/record link to an item
in the OPAC, i.e., http://innopac.fauquiercounty.gov/record=b1179576;
the cataloger gets frustrated because that b# in the OPAC URL isn't the
b# in Millennium (b11795761). Do you always append a "1" to the number?
Doesn't appear to be the case, even though it is for this particular
record. She's tried various combos (x, etc.) and sometimes they work,
sometimes not. Anyway, I didn't have a good answer for her. Is there any
rule or does she have to search under the title, etc., to find the item?

Thanks,

Alison
