[IUG] Holds on ordered items

We are a relatively new Millennium site, and are working on bringing our
acquisitions module online.  We've found a problem we can't solve.  We
have decided to disallow holds on available items.  However, we have
been experimenting with holds placed on ordered items.  When the item is
received, the acquisitions worker sees a dialog box that there are
hold(s) for the book.  However, when an item is added to the bib, the
new item does not trigger the hold.  We've even tried checking the book
out and back in, but does not trigger the hold.  So, no notice is
generated that the requested item is available.

 

Any suggestions?
