Seems to me that Leigh is right: port 21 WAS open and is NOW closed (it
also follows from the following phrase: As of Release 2007, port 21 is
closed to inbound ftp access.).
Our III server is located in DMZ (i.e., there's a firewall between the
server and our network). I wonder if sites with FTP problem have the
same setup...

Interestingly, I had been connecting on port 21 for years--since I began

using WS_FTP. However, changing the settings to connect on port 1021
didn't make a difference--I still couldn't connect :-(
