Are you getting OCLC records or Midwest records? I don't get shelf ready items, but I do acquire through Midwest. They have brief MARC records that I load, but they do not have OCLC numbers. When we receive, we catalog through OCLC. If Midwest is providing you OCLC records, you should only need a loader to load the records. There are different products for sending orders to Midwest and invoicing through Midwest. What are they telling you that you need to purchase?

We are contemplating moving to shelf-ready acquisitions. Our vendor is
Midwest. We are getting confusing information about what add-on
software we may or may not need from OCLC and/or III. Are any of you
using the Millennium to acquire from Midwest? Or, do you have any advice
about Millennium acquisition process when acquiring books already
catalogued and barcoded?

Thank you,
