If you only get one copy of each item you might be able to try this, but
we as a public library get many copies of the same item, thus this
option is not possible for us.

Hello!
ISBNs are indexed in INNOPAC. This leads to the intriguing
possibility of using the dust jacket scannable ISBNs as barcodes.
Has anyone out there tried this?
