[IUG] Not Enough PTYPEs!!!

Hello,
 
Our library system is expanding and we will be getting a new library. The
problem is there are not enough PTypes available. Innovative supplies only
numbers 0 - 255. 
We do have ptypes that are not used much that can be combined with others to
make room for new ptypes. But, wouldn't that mess up the numbers in the loan
rule determiner table? Anyone in a familiar situation? Please advise.
