We're just rolling out a similar service using DekiWiki from MindTouch.org.
It's open source and nearly braindead easy to use. The thing that sold it to
my end users was the WYSIWYG editor, no wiki markup to learn for simple page
construction.
You can get it as a virtual machine so if you have any experience with
VMware, you can have a wiki up and running in 15 minutes. If you've never
used VMware, you can still get it up and running on a Windows PC in less
than an hour. There's a fairly active support community and unlike a lot of
other products out there, you can purchase support from MindTouch. There's
also a hosted version for free or a pro hosted version for about $100 a
year. We're running it internally and have it setup to do authentication
against Active Directory.
It's gotten rave reviews in the tech press for ease of use and its ability
to serve as a platform to roll in other services and applications, i.e.
Youtube videos, Google charts/spreadsheets/maps, Flickr slideshows, RSS,
etc.
Give me a shout if you'd like more info.
