We use an internal wiki for most of our documentation of procedures and policies in our library. We also post meeting minutes, conference notes, student assistant training modules and forms (we are a state institution--we have to have forms!), and anything else we can think of. We have a couple of sandbox areas where we can play around with new ideas and/or keep track of ideas that are evolving.

Tech services staff use it and post to it all the time, and they probably benefit most from it. Other staff use it to varying degrees. Library Faculty rely on it for minutes, conference notes, policies, etc.

We use MediaWiki (http://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/MediaWiki) because we wanted to host it on our site, rather than have our files hosted elsewhere.

I'd say it's been a big success. Easy to use, easy to collaborate, easy to update.

We also use a couple of internal blogs to help us keep track of more immediate things. One, for example focuses on technical issues such as: x database is temporarily down, here's a workaround for x problem, the chemistry assignment is back, check out these trial databases, x database is temporarily up ;-). Another blog is more for our current awareness: new reports or conferences of interest, intriguing websites, interesting implementations of services or opacs in other libraries. Most public services staff subscribe to the blogs and get email or rss when new postings are added. It's also easy to go back and search for issues that pop up repeatedly. We use Wordpress for the blogs.

Hope this helps.

using wikis for staff and would like to know what products are you using

interest exists I will compile and post a report.
