I inserted the Google Analytics code directly into our patroninfo file two or three months ago and have not had a problem.

I also attended the IUG session you mentioned. Last Friday I added the code to our botlogo file and reviewed the reports on Monday.
Other than a LOT of pages being listed there has not been a problem. Each search is shown has a separate page.
ie the full url (with all of the search codes present) shows as a separate page in Google Analytics.

Now I need to figure out the "filtering" mentioned in that IUG session.

At IUG, I attended the Google Analytics session. It appeared something very easy to do so I went ahead and set up this on our library.alliant.edu pages today. I put the script in the bottom logo as instructed in the presentation. The instructions for Google Analytics call for the script to appear before </body> and the botlogo token appears right before the </body>. However by reading the IUG archives, I found out that at least one person put the script in the toplogo and one put it someplace else I think. I viewed the source and it didn't seem like it was in the top or the bot logos. Is there a good reason for the script not to be in the botlogo? -

For those of you using Google Analytics, are there any warnings or drawbacks?

Thank you,
