EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITY- Franklin University, Systems Librarian

Systems Librarian

Franklin University, Columbus, Ohio, is seeking a Systems Librarian who
can manage and administer all III/Millennium operations. This includes
all record loads, back-ups, software upgrades, password authorizations
and database management. In addition, this person will lead special
projects such as the development of new record load tables,
authentication integration and/or redesign and OPAC enhancements.

Responsibilities: The Systems Librarian will be responsible for
III/Millennium administrative duties. This includes performing software
administrative duties such as, record- loads, data backup, record
management and troubleshooting as needed. This position develops and
maintains the Franklin University Library web interface, including the
catalog and any system reliant tools and resources. This position is
also responsible for special projects, serving as liaison to the
Information Technology Department, attending meetings and communicating
and coordinating projects based on larger University initiatives. This
person will also serve as Reference Librarian as needed in rotation,
plan, upgrading and implementing library automation systems and
improving workflow. There will also be collaboration with the
E-Resources Librarian and CIS Course Managers to develop a comprehensive
collection of resources to support the Computer Science, MIS and
Information Technology curriculum. The systems Librarian will also be
the technical writer for Systems Librarian manuals, coordinate training
pertaining to Systems initiatives for the Library staff and engage in
professional development activities.

Qualifications Desired: Master*s degree in Library Science from an
ALA - accredited program; at least 1 year professional experience in a
public or other library. Experience with HTML, CSS and Javascript is
highly preferred. Experience with Innovative Interface Millennium
software is also highly preferred
