I'd be interested if anyone's had success running Millennium modules under
Win2K Terminal Services in Application Mode. In reading through the
archives, it appears that there's been some luck with Citrix or WinNT 4.0
Terminal Server, but thus far, we've had little luck. Please note, if you
have no interest in terminal services, please stop reading now. The rest of
this message will degenerate into either technical drivel or extreme
boredom.

Millennium will run correctly if the server is placed into Install mode;
nevertheless, once the server is in Execute Mode, the java apps fail to
launch. The problem, I believe is related to the system environment for the
Windows directories. When a term server is in install mode, it believes
that Windows system exists at C:\WINNT and C:\WINNT\System32. When the
server's in Execute Mode, the environment points to C:\Documents and
Settings\[Username]\WINDOWS and C:\Documents and
Settings\[Username]\WINDOWS\system. Unfortunately, Millennium seems to be
the only app on our term servers that can't handle this. It's not clear to
me whether it's a general java issue or a specific issue with the
implementation of Millennium on top of java.

In any case, since we'd prefer that not every user who logs on be an
administrator (which you need to go into Install Mode), we'd like to get a
sense of whether anyone's determined a workaround. Any input would be most
appreciated.
