Mieko,

We had AVS installed recently, and were also interested in the multi-boxes with drop-down menus. When we asked our AVS implementor to include this option as one of the default screens, we were told that it is not fully released yet, and will be down-loadable via CS-DIRECT sometime in the future.

Hope this helps,

We are having Advanced Search installed next week and debating what
search options to offer to our patrons. Library staff I have consulted
so far seem to prefer the multiple input box approach similar to
Innovative's Advanced Search page on their demo system

http://www.iii.com:81/search/X

I have checked several WebOPACs with Advanced Search and have not
found any site offering an Advanced Search form with multiple input
boxes. I would be interested to hear from anyone who is offering an
Advanced Search help page with multiple input boxes where patrons can
build up a complex search expression.

I have noticed that on Innovative's demo system the last search does
not appear in the input box when the Modify Search button is clicked.
On several live systems the last search expression does appear in the
input box. I'm wondering if this is related to the use of multiple
input boxes. Does anyone have any explanation?

Mieko
