The Hewlett-Packard 7670 is fine and not expensive, but I would not
purchase it in conjunction with its ADF (Automatic Document Feeder), and
that may be important if you wish to use any software application that
permits a continuous scan (an entire document) such as Acrobat 4.0. The
ADF feeder has only two take-up wheels, mounted to the left
of the top edge and in the center of the top edge, and this causes on
takeup a skewing of the entering pages to the left. In turn of course
the scanned image is slanted to the left. While perhaps not a critical
issue to the reader of an article on reserve, it certainly was when I
tried a "professional" scan of a document into pdf format for posting on
the college's web site. And, frankly, it doesn't look like it will last.

very long.
