Technical Services Manager (Kitchigami Regional Library)

Kitchigami Regional Library invites applications for the position of Manager of Technical Services. This position is responsible for planning, organizing, supervising and coordinating the regional library’s technical functions, including acquisitions, cataloging, processing, interlibrary loan and delivery services, ILS and network. The successful candidate will utilize experience in ILS and network management, cataloging and related functions, and communications to achieve the public service goals of the library and its branches. Experience with III Millennium an advantage.

Kitchigami Regional Library provides public library service through nine community branches and a mobile library to five counties in north-central Minnesota: Beltrami, Cass, Crow Wing, Hubbard and Wadena.

Qualifications: ALA MLS and three years of public library technical services and supervisory experience. Valid driver’s license.

Associate Director for Digital Initiatives

The University of St. Thomas is accepting applications for an Associate Director for Digital Initiatives in the UST Libraries. This position is critical to leadership and project management in the UST Libraries’ digital environment

Responsibilities include: planning, developing, implementing and sustaining the UST Libraries’ digital environment; conducting hands-on leadership in building, configuring and maintaining the UST Libraries’ website; coordinating library technology projects using formal project management processes; analyzing and assessing the usage and effectiveness of electronic resources and technologies; working with campus colleagues on the development of library technologies in the context of university wide planning; collaborating with library staff and university faculty on the development and management of electronic content; coordinating and developing standards of technical training for UST Libraries’ staff.

Kitchigami Regional Library, a consolidated public library system in north central Minnesota, has an opening for our main ILS system staff.

Computer system technician to operate and maintain the KRLS Innovative Interfaces, Inc. integrated library system, related server and network technology, and client PCs including remote access, from Pine River headquarters. Windows client, network technology and html experience required. Regular part-time for 30 hours per week, Monday-Friday and on-call as required.

The St. Olaf College Libraries have an opening for the Head of Circulation & Interlibrary Loan.
The Head of Circulation and Interlibrary loan (a) plans, organizes, and oversees the libraries’ circulation and interlibrary loan operation and (b) serves as the point person for space planning and the use and care of Rolvaag’s collection. Leads the staff in circulation and interlibrary loan in evaluating, improving, and streamlining their work. Establishes benchmarks for the department and its staff, evaluates performance, designs and improves workflow, and measures progress on high-priority projects. Identifies and implements new technologies. Serves with other departmental heads on the libraries’ administrative council and advocates for the needs of faculty, students, departmental staff, and the library and college as a whole. Actively contributes to library-wide planning, policy-making, goal-setting and the development of new services and initiatives. Works with counterparts at Carleton College to develop consortial initiatives, and to manage and improve the shared library system. Supports the College Librarian in vetting new ideas, initiatives, and strategic plans. Works alongside staff in the circulation and interlibrary loan to run day-to-day operations.
