Assistant Director, Information Technology (MOBIUS)

Environment:
MOBIUS is a consortium of Missouri college and university libraries, public libraries and the Missouri State Library. Serving more than 750,000 students, faculty, and staff at 60 institutions, MOBIUS’s membership also includes 2 public libraries and the Missouri State Library.
The largest single project for which MOBIUS is responsible is the Common Library Platform (CLP). The CLP creates a virtual collection of the more than 20 million items contained in the libraries of MOBIUS member institutions and creates a single user interface that allows patrons to request library materials using any personal computer in any location with access to the Internet. Requested materials are delivered within one or two days of being requested by the MOBIUS Delivery System.
MOBIUS has an active program of consortial licensing of electronic information resources such as electronic journals. In 2006 MOBIUS started a cooperative collection development project.

The Kresge Library of the Notre Dame Law School is seeking a talented librarian to help us establish a new position and then to be its founding occupant. We are looking for someone who understands electronic resources and is adept at making them useful to library patrons. We are looking for an independent thinker with a cooperative outlook, a flexible and creative person who will help the library establish goals, methods, and structures that will make our electronic resources available to our users in the most sensible fashion while helping to ensure that the library’s investment in electronic resources is responsibly maintained.

The Kresge Library is an integral part of the Notre Dame Law School and offers exceptional opportunities for developing professional skills and contributing to the educational mission of the Law School. The successful candidate will be a member of an experienced faculty of 10 librarians and part of the regular faculty of the Law School.

Administer and maintain the integrated library system (III); manage the Library LAN (a 60 computer network) and provide hardware/software and network support for the library. POSITION: Central College seeks a service-oriented, creative Technical Services Librarian to join a collaborative environment and facilitate access to library collections in an outstanding liberal arts college library. This is a 12-month, tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant Professor. The Librarian has primary responsibility for management of an integrated library system shared with the Pella Public Library and cataloging of all materials. The Librarian will supervise copy cataloging and materials processing and perform complex cataloging of monographs, serials, audiovisual materials, electronic resources and special collections. The Librarian is also responsible for administration of a proxy server, link resolver, and related technology.

All librarians share responsibilities for reference, instruction, and collection maintenance. The position includes some evening and weekend reference hours.
