Electronic Resources Librarian (Notre Dame Law School)

The Kresge Library of the Notre Dame Law School is seeking a talented librarian to help us establish a new position and then to be its founding occupant. We are looking for someone who understands electronic resources and is adept at making them useful to library patrons. We are looking for an independent thinker with a cooperative outlook, a flexible and creative person who will help the library establish goals, methods, and structures that will make our electronic resources available to our users in the most sensible fashion while helping to ensure that the library’s investment in electronic resources is responsibly maintained.

The Kresge Library is an integral part of the Notre Dame Law School and offers exceptional opportunities for developing professional skills and contributing to the educational mission of the Law School. The successful candidate will be a member of an experienced faculty of 10 librarians and part of the regular faculty of the Law School.

Serials & Electronic Resources Librarian (Loyola Marymount University - Los Angeles)

Loyola Marymount University seeks a creative, enthusiastic candidate for the new position of Serials & Electronic Resources Librarian. This librarian will be responsible for managing electronic resources, as well as print serials and other continuing resources.

POSITION: Systems & Electronic Resources Librarian. 12 month appointment with faculty status, tenure track, TIAA-CREF. Position is available July 1, 2008.

JOB DESCRIPTION: Lead the library in further planning, development, implementation, management, and support of its technology infrastructure. Administer and maintain the integrated library system (III); manage the Library LAN (a 60 computer network) and provide hardware/software and network support for the library. Coordinate evaluation, selection, implementation, and support of electronic resources. Maintain the library’s web page; engage in reference service and instruction in use of electronic resources. Some night and weekend work. Train library staff in use of new hardware/software resources in support of library’s mission. Supervise one technician.

Electronic Access Librarian (Caltech Library Services)

Caltech Library Services seeks an energetic, service-oriented individual to work within the Metadata Services Group to coordinate electronic access to Library materials. The Electronic Access Librarian will collaborate closely with Collection Management and the Business Office to facilitate the identification, selection, and fiscal control of resources while overseeing the metadata records-keeping and database maintenance required to make resources available electronically. The Librarian also develops policies, procedures, and work flows to optimize the experience of customers accessing Library resources on line, trains staff to implement best practices, and maintains quality control of related metadata.

Entry Level Web Developer (FT)

No library experience necessary. Reporting to the Systems Librarian, the Web Developer will work with the Systems Librarian and other staff to design, implement, and maintain the electronic services managed by Technical & Electronic Services (TES). Our department provides expert cataloging and web-based applications and content to Touro Libraries and their users worldwide. We are a quiet office of nine professionals and clerical staff.

Although we work independently on specialized tasks most of the time, collaboration at key points in our projects is critical. Given the complexity and specialized nature of library services and their supporting technology, the Web Developer will have a particular need to maintain close consultation with colleagues within and beyond TES.
