The St. Olaf College Libraries have an opening for the Head of Circulation & Interlibrary Loan.
The Head of Circulation and Interlibrary loan (a) plans, organizes, and oversees the libraries’ circulation and interlibrary loan operation and (b) serves as the point person for space planning and the use and care of Rolvaag’s collection. Leads the staff in circulation and interlibrary loan in evaluating, improving, and streamlining their work. Establishes benchmarks for the department and its staff, evaluates performance, designs and improves workflow, and measures progress on high-priority projects. Identifies and implements new technologies. Serves with other departmental heads on the libraries’ administrative council and advocates for the needs of faculty, students, departmental staff, and the library and college as a whole. Actively contributes to library-wide planning, policy-making, goal-setting and the development of new services and initiatives. Works with counterparts at Carleton College to develop consortial initiatives, and to manage and improve the shared library system. Circulation Librarian

The Outagamie Waupaca Library System (OWLS) seeks a full-time professional librarian to serve as primary circulation support for the OWLSnet automation network and to assist in administering the Innovative Interfaces computer system.
The Circulation Librarian works with the staff at OWLSnet member libraries to provide training and support on circulation-related tasks, including responding to user inquiries and working with the automation vendor to troubleshoot and solve problems. Additionally, the Circulation Librarian is actively involved in administering OWLSnet policies and procedures. Travel within 150 miles of Appleton, WI is required.

Primary Responsibilities

Under the supervision of the Dean of Instruction and Technology and with the collaboration of the other librarians, the Public Access Services Librarian shall coordinate the services of circulation, interlibrary loan, and reserves (print and electronic).  The Public Access Services Librarian shall also provide reference, information and instruction services to students, faculty and staff; select materials in subject areas for print and electronic collections; maintain up-to-date instruction materials for library resources; assist in expanding and promoting services to strengthen library support of distance education students and faculty; and provide library instruction in a variety of settings and formats that may include library credit courses.

Coordinator in the circulation department.
The position reports to the Circulation Manager and is
responsible for overseeing all shelving, shelf-reading,
shifting, searching, and other stacks maintenance activities
in Carrier Library. Trains, supervises, and monitors 20-25
student assistants assigned to stacks maintenance.
Communicates shelving, shelf-reading, and shifting
