The Lansing Community College Library is seeking a creative and innovative individual to provide leadership for the library’s web presence, including the coordination of a large, complex website. The selected candidate will be a knowledgeable, passionate advocate of the web as a vehicle for student learning in a diverse, dynamic environment. LCC, Michigan’s third largest community college, offers over 2500 courses and serves nearly 40,000 students a year, including students from over 100 foreign countries.
Responsibilities
Participates in faculty librarian activities including in-person and virtual reference assistance, information literacy instruction and outreach, collection development and the creation of resource guides. Coordinates the management of the library website. Explores and develops opportunities to integrate emerging technologies into library services. Shares strategies, techniques and best practices for using emerging technologies to engage learners and staff. Provides library staff training and support. Serves on department, division and college-wide committees. Participates in department teams and external committees. Ongoing professional development.

Qualifications
Master’s degree in Library Information Science from an ALA accredited institution or equivalent degree required. Ability to envision and champion the creative use of emerging technologies to enhance the delivery of library services. Working knowledge of emerging Web 2.0 technologies in academic libraries. Fluency in HTML and CSS. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Strong customer service focus and commitment to service excellence. Commitment to engage in continuing professional development. Teaching or library instruction experience preferred.
