Director of Library and Information Technology Services
Description/Responsibilities: Columbia College is seeking an innovative leader who will work closely with all campus constituent groups in recommending, communicating, implementing, and managing the J. Drake Edens Library and Information Technology (IT) Services. Duties of this 12-month, non-tenured, faculty position include providing visionary leadership and strategic direction for the newly merged areas of the library and IT and directing overall operations. The Director will report to the Provost/Vice President for Academic Affairs and will be responsible for developing library and IT services initiatives that support student learning as well as faculty teaching and scholarship.The Director will also foster existing relationships and develop new collaborative relationships with individuals, colleges/universities, and statewide and national professional organizations as appropriate.
Qualifications: The successful candidate for this position will meet the following basic requirements:
* an ALA-accredited MLS degree
* a minimum of five years experience
* a demonstrated ability to successfully manage resources and set priorities
* strong skills in personnel management, communication, collaboration, and leadership
* experience in budget development and long range planning
Preferred experience for this position includes:
* IT experience in a higher education environment
* Familiarity with Innovative’s Millennium, Jenzabar EX and Raisers Edge
