Western Carolina University (WCU) is a dynamic, fast-growing member of the 16-campus University of North Carolina system. WCU is dedicated to continuous enhancement of its academic programs and integrating engaged learning with service to the region. Located in Cullowhee, NC, WCU is situated in a beautiful valley of the Blue Ridge Mountains, 52 miles west of Asheville and near the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, one of the nation’s most spectacular and most visited national parks. From its 600-acre main campus, through programs in Asheville, at various community colleges and online, the University serves more than 9,000 students from almost every state in the United States and 39 other countries. In order to meet emerging needs of the people of the state, WCU is committed to doubling its enrollment within a decade. The current student body is 54 percent female and 46 percent male. Academically, WCU offers 120 areas of study for undergraduates and more than 50 graduate-level programs. WCU is in the early stages of planning for the Millennial Initiative, an ambitious and comprehensive regional economic development strategy that will enable the university to partner with business, industry and government. Plans call for WCU to develop 344 acres of recently acquired property on the West Campus and portions of the existing campus to create multi-use neighborhoods that will become home to a mix of academic buildings, research facilities, business, industry and housing as part of a “knowledge enterprise zone.” The Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools accredits WCU to award baccalaureate, masters, education specialist and doctoral degrees. The University also holds 21 program accreditations and is a member of more than 30 state and national associations and organizations to which its professional programs are related. WCU has more than 500 full-time faculty members; 73 percent hold doctoral or terminal degrees. More than 78 percent of the classes have fewer than 30 students and the student faculty ratio is approximately 14-to-1.

Description/Responsibilities: Columbia College is seeking an innovative leader who will work closely with all campus constituent groups in recommending, communicating, implementing, and managing the J. Drake Edens Library and Information Technology (IT) Services. Duties of this 12-month, non-tenured, faculty position include providing visionary leadership and strategic direction for the newly merged areas of the library and IT and directing overall operations. Central Connecticut State University seeks qualified applicants for the position of Cataloger. Appointment will be made at the Assistant Librarian level and is a 12-month tenure-track faculty position. Salary for Assistant Librarian $48,958+, depending on qualifications.
The Assistant Librarian will work cooperatively with other members of the Cataloging Department including two full-time librarians and one support staff member. The Department is a member of the Program for Cooperative Cataloging and contributes to NACO. The cataloging utility is OCLC and the Library’s integrated system is Innovative Interfaces, Inc.

Acquisitions and Electronic Resources Management Librarian
DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
Radford University seeks a creative, dedicated librarian to provide leadership in acquisitions and electronic resources management. Position responsibilities include: handling license agreements, vendor contracts, and materials budget estimates; monitoring expenditures and fiscal closing using Innovative’s Millennium system and the University’s accounting system; managing the Millennium Electronic Resources Management System (ERMS) and electronic resource access through the Serials Solutions database; participating in collection development; and collaborating with the other Technical Services librarians to provide departmental leadership. Twelve-month non-tenured professional faculty position, which includes supervision of staff, and responsibilities for university service and professional contributions.

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
Manage technical aspects of electronic information resources including e-serials management, XML and metadata encoding, authentication, and related technical issues. Responsible for assisting in managing comprehensive content-linking/resolution service technologies at the article level. Work as part of a team to provide ongoing access to the online collections, including troubleshooting problems arising from access-related technical issues including link resolution and (future) federated searching. Collaborate in workflow analysis, operational changes and documentation of procedures and policies. Assist in strategic planning and in evaluating and recommending services, products and projects. Provide instruction, documentation, and assistance in problem solving for library IT applications. Participate in Collection Development.
