QUALIFICATIONS: Master’s degree from a school of Library or Information Sciences. Two years of professional library experience required. One year of supervisory experience required and knowledge of accounting practices desirable.
DUTIES: The Acquisitions Unit is located in the Library’s centralized Service Center. Work involves hiring, scheduling and appraising staff, performing research, identifying and working with vendors, coordinating ordering, overseeing the library’s serials functions, coordinating acquisitions functions with other library units and providing information to staff to facilitate order placement. Assists the Unit Head in administering the online acquisitions system, including technical expertise, managing functionality to respond to the library’s needs and handling system problems. Represents the Acquisitions Unit at meetings and conferences as requested and serves as a member of various library system committees as appropriate. This position reports to the Head of Acquisitions.
SALARY: Annual $41,000 (40 hpw)
