Head of User Services & Instruction/Assoc. Professor Library (Univ. of Nebraska at Kearney)

Head of User Services and Instruction/Associate Professor Library (Tenure Track), University of Nebraska at Kearney.

Coordinates all aspects of User Services and Library Instruction programs. This is a twelve-month, tenure track appointment reporting to the Dean of the Library. Required: Master’s degree in Library and Information Science from an American Library Association accredited program. Minimum of five years of academic library supervisory experience in a user services area. Experience with reference, library instruction, and other user services, including familiarity with emerging library technologies. Knowledge of, and experience with, web design and web services applications. Evidence of scholarly activity appropriate to the Associate Professor level and potential to meet tenure requirements. Ability to work independently and collaboratively. Strong leadership, written and verbal communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills. Preferred: Second master’s degree. Experience with course management software. Experience in working within the academic

community to develop instruction programs. Experience in instructional design. Start Date: July 2007. Competitive salary and benefits.
