Technical Services Librarian (Biola University Library–La Mirada, California)
Biola University Library–La Mirada, California, USA–seeks a Technical
Services Librarian to begin July 6, 2007 or as soon thereafter as possible.
The Technical Services Librarian opening is a full-time, forty-hour per
week, twelve-month position. A successful candidate will hold an
ALA-accredited MLS degree or its equivalent, possess excellent
organizational and communication skills, and have sufficient background
and experience to 1) supervise the Acquisitions, Cataloging, and
Processing Departments; 2) serve at reference and in the library
instruction program as needed; 3) do committee work; and 4) carry out
other duties as assigned by the Dean of the Library. The work schedule may
include one night per week and/or rotating weekend reference duty. The
individual reports to the Dean of Library and Media Services.

The salary is commensurate with training and experience. The starting
range for Librarians I and II (MLS with limited experience) is
$44,000-$51,000 plus benefits. The benefits include fifteen days of annual
vacation, a cafeteria plan availability of medical, dental, disability,
and life insurances, holidays, bonus, and paid and unpaid leaves, and,
after one-year, a matching retirement plan and university tuition waivers.
