COLLECTION DEVELOPMENT AND MANAGEMENT LIBRARIAN (Oberlin College)
The Oberlin College Library, recipient of the 2002 ACRL Excellence in Academic Libraries Award and an active participant in OhioLINK, invites applications and nominations for the position of Collection Development and Management Librarian.
Provides leadership in developing print, media, and electronic resources; administers a $2+ million materials budget; leads integration of new media and access methods; develops forward-thinking plans for growth and management of collections; coordinates Library participation in cooperative library collection development and management programs; and participates in efforts to promote positive change in the system of scholarly communication.
Requirements: ALA accredited M.L.S. degree; broad liberal arts education; minimum three years’ experience in academic library including collection development; knowledge of scholarly communication issues; knowledge of information and book trades; administrative and supervisory ability as well as flexibility in planning and implementing programs.
