Manager for Library Systems (Reposting/reworking of a previous position, available immediately) Drexel University

Drexel University Libraries are seeking an energetic manager for library systems to help move the libraries to 21st century library technology and services. The successful candidate will have primary responsibility for managing the Integrated Library System (III Millenium), and related infrastructure and applications. The successful candidate will enjoy working in a team-based organization with a strong emphasis on customer service for both local and distance learning support.

Reporting to the Head of Library Systems, the Systems Manager manages all aspects of the ILS for the Drexel University Libraries (Hagerty, Health Sciences, and Law Libraries) including implementation, configuration, and updates; integrates the ILS with other campus servers and services such as Banner, and other Library servers and services such as Inter-library Loan and OpenURL servers; ensures a robust, secure, flexible and maintainable IT infrastructure to support library services and strategic initiatives.  Please go to www.drexeljobs.com <http://www.drexeljobs.com/>  to apply, and search for the job title “Library Systems Manager”.

TWO CATALOG LIBRARIAN POSITIONS (Digital Resources Cataloger and Digital/Tangible Media Cataloger; MU Libraries - University of Missouri-Columbia)

The University of Missouri-Columbia Libraries seeks qualified candidates for two entry level catalog librarian positions. Principal duties for both positions will include cataloging of digital resources. One will focus on online resources: purchases, requests from selectors, and institutional repository materials. The other position will focus on special collections materials, both tangible and those digitized from local collections. The primary focus for each position will be the secondary focus of the other, and both may work together on priority assignments. We will employ a single search process to fill both positions.

Coastal Carolina University invites applications for the position of
Library Director, beginning in Summer 2007.  This position is the chief
administrative officer of the Library and reports directly to the
University Provost.  The Director has faculty status and supervises a
staff of ten professional librarians, 10.5 staff and a budget of
approximately $1.9 M.

The Director provides strategic direction and vision for the library by:
planning and implementing strategies to enhance services and
collections; furthering creative use of emerging technologies; setting
budgets and effectively managing the library’s resources; fostering
excellent relationships within the library and with the campus community
and administration; maintaining and strengthening the library’s
instructional and academic roles and responsibilities; overseeing a
continuous program of long-range planning and assessment of library
services; fostering state and regional cooperation in resource sharing
and networking.

The Director provides leadership on library issues to the University
community and serves as an advocate of the library locally, statewide
and nationally.

Coastal Carolina University is a growing, state-supported liberal arts
institution where emphasis is on undergraduate education, and growing
importance is placed on faculty mentored student research projects and
public service.  Coastal Carolina University is located approximately
nine miles from Myrtle Beach, South Carolina and enrolls more than 8,000
students.

Requirements:  An ALA-accredited MLS or MLIS.  Doctorate or second
masters preferred.  The candidate should have multiple years of
progressively responsible library management experience; strong
interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively communicate with a
wide range of individuals in the campus community; vision and leadership
skills to position the Library to meet future needs; knowledge of
emerging technologies and trends in library services and their impact on
higher education; effective fiscal resource management; experience with
assessment and strategic planning.

least one librarian who reports or reported to the candidate and
personal statement addressing the vision of an academic library to
